About

Erin Janda is a writer, content creator, and photography hobbyist who resides in Asheville, North Carolina (USA). She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Georgia, where she discovered her fondness for 19th and 20th century British Literature. As part of her undergraduate studies, she was accepted to study abroad through a university partnership at Worcester College (University of Oxford) under the instruction of Professor David Bradshaw, which deepened her knowledge and appreciation of Virginia Woolf.

She launched her YouTube channel — Erin Janda Creative — in December 2023. Her videos center around books, writing, nature, and cozy cottage living. Video making is another form of story-telling that Erin thoroughly enjoys.

She adores fantasy stories, especially Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, which is her all-time favorite book. She is also an avid reader of classic literature, speculative fiction, and queer literature written by LGBTQIA+ authors.

On a more personal note

As a child, I had a massive imagination. When asked “what I wanted to be when I grew up,” I often replied with “story-teller.” My curiosity, imagination, and love of stories has only grown with time. As human beings, I believe that we need stories to thrive. Stories allow us to remember our histories, connect with others, and see ourselves through characters. They also help us to process difficult emotions, grow compassion, and find courage. Stories can offer a refuge or escape; they can transport us to other times or worlds. Stories, in my humble opinion, are real-life magic.
